The first Chiswick Book Festival was supported by Waterstone's in Chiswick High Road, the Oxfam Book Shop in Turnham Green Terrace, Bookcase in Chiswick High Road, Chiswick Library, chiswickw4.com, Hounslow and Ealing Councils and many publishers and writers living in Chiswick and other parts of west London.

It formed part of the Open Chiswick initiative, a series of weekend events in Chiswick throughout September.
